Evan Neal had a classic admission about the NY Giants and New Jersey (Video)
From the moment the NY Giants selected Alabama offensive tackle Evan Neal in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, people have been fired up to see what he can do for this team. Neal is pumped himself to help the Giants get back on track too.
As it turns out, Neal didn’t have any idea that his future stomping grounds will actually be across the river from Manhattan. In a hilarious video after being selected by the Giants, the massive lineman revealed that he thought the Giants actually played their games in New York, not New Jersey.
NY Giants fans can’t wait to see Evan Neal in action
It’s nearly impossible to watch that clip from Neal and not laugh. He had no choice but to admit that he indeed thought the Giants played their games in New York and not over at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.
It’s understandable, as not everyone knows where MetLife is. Luckily for Neal, it’s only a short drive across state lines from New Jersey to New York. Looking at the bigger picture, the former Alabama standout will surely have high expectations from the moment camp gets underway.
With New York using its No. 7 overall pick on Neal, the front office and general manager Joe Schoen clearly have all the confidence in the world for the 6-foot-7, 350-pounder to help the offensive line do a 180 starting in 2022.
Both pass protection and the run blocking has been a major issue for the Giants, but there’s some hope for the future, especially with a massive addition like Neal on the way. Not only that, but the fanbase can’t wait to see fellow first-round pick Kayvon Thibodeaux make some head-turning plays as well for the defense. These two were home-run picks by Schoen.
The NFL Draft could not have gone any better for the Giants and it has no question fired up the team’s supporters for the new campaign to get here in September. Neal has a bubbling personality, which will surely win over everyone who rocks Giants gear with pride.
He may have thought that only people in New York love the team, but he’s now learning countless folks in New Jersey will be ready to cheer loudly for him as well. The future is bright for Neal and he’ll be ready to live up to the hype around his name.
