It’s been a while since NY Giants fans thought about former wide receiver Rueben Randle, but apparently there’s still plenty of people out there talking to him on Twitter. Seriously? That’s what Randle made clear over the weekend, as he posted on his Twitter account that he’s still getting trolled by some folks who used to cheer him on in the stands.

This has come as a complete shock to countless NY supporters. Matter of fact, perhaps what was even more surprising in this case was that the former Giants speedster decided to bash people in the process. Randle didn’t hold back in a pair of tweets, highlighting the fact that the team’s offense hasn’t been the same since he left East Rutherford.

Rueben Randle calling out NY Giants fans sure was a surprise

Randle spent four seasons with the Giants from 2012-2015. In 2014, he recorded a career year, hauling in 71 receptions for 948 yards and three touchdowns. In 2015, his final campaign with the NFC East side, Randle posted 797 yards and eight touchdowns. After suiting up for the G-Men, Randle signed with the Eagles, but didn’t make it out of camp.

Then he signed with the Chicago Bears in 2017, but nothing ever materialized there either. No one has heard much of Randle since, but he’s been busy reliving the glory days with the Giants from the looks of his tweets. The fact that he felt the need to call out fans like this is pretty random, and also pretty unwarranted. It’s not like people are constantly slamming him or anything.

Since firing up his tweets calling out the NY faithful on Saturday, more people have jumped into the replies to respond with a proverbial jab of their own. Randle is bringing up the past, while the Giants are ready to look ahead. The future feels bright for this team, as first-round picks Kayvon Thibodeaux and Evan Neal have provided plenty of excitement for the fanbase.

There’s also plenty of hope that Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley can have bounce-back seasons, which of course will be needed for the offense to take several steps forward in 2022. If New York does improve offensively, Randle may need to eat his words a little bit. From his most recent Twitter activity, though, it doesn’t look like he’ll be headed to MetLife Stadium this fall to support the team with the Giants fans close by.
