It’s never too early to look ahead to the 2023 NFL Draft, even though things just wrapped up for 2022 less than two weeks ago. With that said, there’s already plenty of speculation on who the NY Giants might go with next spring, but the strong belief is they’ll be using their first-round pick on a new franchise quarterback.

Kentucky signal-caller Will Levis makes sense, but now there’s a new SEC stud being linked to the Giants: Bryce Young. The Alabama standout won the Heisman Trophy last season and powered the Crimson Tide to the National Championship Game. Come this time next year, could Young pack his bags for East Rutherford? This would certainly be something.

NY Giants taking Bryce Young in the draft would fire up the fanbase

Chris Trapasso of CBSSports dropped his 2023 mock draft on Monday and he’s got Levis going No. 1 overall to the Houston Texans. This is a bit of a surprise, as plenty of other insiders have both Young and C.J. Stroud ahead of Levis on their boards. Trapasso sees things a bit differently in this case, however.

He indeed has Levis headed to Houston and then Trapasso envisions the Lions using the No. 3 overall pick on Stroud. Then at No. 5, Trapasso likes Young going to the Giants. This would of course be amazing to see for the G-Men, as all signs are pointing to this being Daniel Jones’ final campaign with the organization.

A former No. 6 overall selection, Jones has disappointed during his time with New York and the team decided not to pick up his fifth-year option. With this, Jones won’t return to the team in 2023 unless he has a big-time showing this upcoming season. Brian Daboll has strong belief in Jones, but if a player of Young’s caliber is on the board for New York next April, there’s no chance they pass up on him. Young is simply too good.

Last season for Alabama and Nick Saban, Young tossed for 4,872 yards, 47 touchdowns and only seven interceptions. His campaign ended in heartbreaking fashion, as Alabama lost to Georgia with the natty on the line. Now, Young will enter the new season with revenge on his mind. He’s in line for another big year and countless NFL teams will be keeping a close eye on him. This will of course include the Giants.
