James Bradberry says bye to Giants and teammates shower him with love
All good things must come to an end and this is exactly what has happened with James Bradberry and the NY Giants. On Monday, the team announced that they released the veteran cornerback after two seasons with the organization. This move was expected, as the team couldn’t afford his $21.8 million cap hit.
Though Bradberry knew his release was arriving sooner than later, that doesn’t mean he wasn’t emotional once he received the news. Bradberry made that much clear on Instagram, as he posted a short and sweet message to the fanbase. On top of that, Bradberry’s IG story was loaded with memories with the team.

James Bradberry’s NY Giants teammates will miss him
Bradberry won over countless fans with his outstanding play on the gridiron. In 2020, his first season in New York, he received Pro Bowl honors after posting 54 tackles and three interceptions. Last season, Bradberry recorded a career-high four interceptions for the Giants. There was hope that he’d maybe restructure his deal, but that didn’t happen.
New York and general manager Joe Schoen were also trying to trade him, but nothing was finalized there either. Because of this, the Giants decided to cut him, which will create more than $10 million in cap space. The update of Bradberry’s release hasn’t been easy for his teammates, however, as several players commented on his IG post to let him know he’ll be missed.
With Bradberry now a free agent, plenty of teams have shown interest. Per multiple reports, the Colts, Chiefs, Raiders, Eagles and others are hoping to potentially land his services. For Giants supporters, a Bradberry signing with the Eagles would be the last thing they want to see. For the veteran defensive back to sign with an NFC East rival would break countless hearts.
It remains to be seen where Bradberry will land, but people in New York and New Jersey are going to have to get used to him suiting up for a different defense. At only 28 years old, the 6-foot-2, 210-pounder still has plenty of great football ahead of him. People should find out soon where he’ll be taking his game for the 2022 campaign.
