Just last week, new NY Giants outside linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux revealed that he was being mentored by Michael Strahan. Strahan will go down as one of the best New York players of all time, no one can argue that. So, how could things get even better for Thibodeaux leading up to his first camp with the team?

Leave it to fellow Giants legend Osi Umenyiora, a two-time Super Bowl winner with the team, to get the fanbase even more excited. In a recent interview with the New York Post, Umenyiora delivered a pair of quotes that will most definitely have people talking.

Kayvon Thibodeaux has huge NY Giants expectations for 2022

Umenyiora admitted he doesn’t see much of Strahan or Jason Pierre-Paul in the Giants No. 5 overall pick, but he does see a little bit of himself in him. Umenyiora was an absolute force for New York during his playing days, so Thibodeaux should 100 percent take this as a massive compliment.

“I like him as a player for sure,” Umenyiora said of Thibodeaux via the NY Post. “Very dynamic football player. He’s strong against the run, which for a college pass rusher of his caliber, you don’t really see that. Strong, quick first step, good bend around the edge, good pass-rush moves, good speed, good motor.

After an incredible career at Oregon, Thibodeaux is now ready to make plenty of noise for the G-Men and head coach Brian Daboll. Not only that, but people in town are also fired up about the future of offensive tackle Evan Neal. Thibodeaux and Neal are providing plenty of excitement for fans as a whole, even with the rough news that James Bradberry had been released by Joe Schoen.

Regardless of that, everyone in Giants nation is looking forward to the future for this team. There’s plenty of reasons to be jacked up about the 2022 season and Thibodeaux will of course play a huge role in the squad trying to bounce back this fall and winter. If you ask Umenyiora, Thibodeaux is quite dynamic and he’ll no question make a name for himself with this defense. The takes from the former Giants standout only has even more people counting down the days for Week 1 to arrive.
