For NY Giants fans, they’re not going to stop talking about Week 1 of the 2022 season until the big day arrives. As was revealed on Thursday, New York will take on the Tennessee Titans on Sept. 11 in Nashville to open the season. After going 4-13 last year, the pressure will be on the G-Men to bounce back in a big way this fall.
While it won’t be easy, there’s plenty of reason to believe that head coach Brian Daboll can get this group back on track. In this article, we break down every contest and offer up our predictions. Will the Giants end up sneaking into the playoffs?
NY Giants game-by-game prediction for 2022 schedule
Week 1: NY Giants at Tennessee Titans
This won’t be an easy showdown for the Giants, as Ryan Tannehill is a savvy veteran quarterback and Derrick Henry is an absolute unit running the ball. The opening line is out and Tennessee, to no one’s surprise, is favored to come away with a road win. We think the Giants will make things interesting, but we’re going with Tennessee to record a victory.
Prediction: Titans 28-Giants 20
Week 2: NY Giants vs. Carolina Panthers
Come Sept. 18, the Giants will make their 2022 MetLife Stadium debut and host the Carolina Panthers. This will mark a return to the area for Sam Darnold, who spent three awful years with the New York Jets. Darnold might be fired up to try and light up his former stomping grounds, but we think Daniel Jones will get the better of him.
Prediction: Giants 24-Panthers 17
Week 3: NY Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys on MNF
Get your popcorn ready for some Monday Night Football action. That’s right, in Week 3, Dallas and New York will take centerstage, with the Giants hosting the Cowboys for this one. The pressure will be on Jones and Saquon Barkley in primetime. Dallas will hope to record a head-turning win, but an upset might be in the air that night. Look for the Giants to come out on top in a high-scoring affair.
Prediction: Giants 31-Cowboys 28
Week 4: NY Giants vs. Chicago Bears
In another home game, the Giants will have a fantastic opportunity to record another win, this time against the Bears. Justin Fields is still a young quarterback and the former first-round pick sure had his struggles last year. With the Giants holding an impressive pass-rush thanks to the addition of Kayvon Thibodeaux, the Giants could make Fields’ life difficult from start to finish in this matchup. Advantage New York.
Prediction: Giants 27-Bears 17
