With the recent release of veteran cornerback James Bradberry, the NY Giants secondary isn’t looking as dangerous as it was a couple of weeks ago. Even with speculation Bradberry and the Giants were going to split months ago, New York neglected to address the position this offseason.

When the initial wave of free agency hit, the Giants chose to not add to their cornerbacks room. When the draft rolled around, they didn’t select a cornerback until the third round when they added LSU’s Cordale Flott.

Second-year corner Aaron Robinson made great strides throughout his first season and was a much better player by the end of the year. The Giants putting him as their CB2 across from Adoree’ Jackson isn’t unrealistic and could be what they have planned. However, there is still a lack of proven players behind them.

Even months after free agency has started, there are several veteran cornerbacks who are on the open market. At least a few of them could potentially be willing to take a one-year “prove-it” deal. By joining this Giants secondary, they would have an opportunity to showcase that they can still play at a high level. While they may not be at Bradberry’s level, they can still bring knowledge to the position.
