We haven’t even reached the summer months yet and the Dallas Cowboys faithful are already drinking the Kool-Aid by the gallons. While the NY Giants don’t have much room to talk of late due due some disappointing campaigns, it’s not like the G-Men fanbase is putting up ridiculous predictions for 2022.

The same can’t be said over in Texas, as people are blowing up the expectations for stud wide receiver CeeDee Lamb. Let’s make one thing clear: Lamb is a bonafide baller and he should have a strong campaign. With that said, there’s people in the Dallas area claiming he’s the top wide receiver in the division and he could be a top-five WR overall. Let’s back up just a bit here.

Cowboys fans need to calm down on CeeDee Lamb

A quick look at Twitter shows that people are freaking out over Lamb hitting the weight room hard this offseason, as he’s put on about 10 pounds of muscle. That’s obviously great and again, Lamb should be a total stud this year. However, if you ask Cowboys supporters, he’s going to be among the best wideouts in the game. Let’s be real, he’s not even the best WR in the NFC East. He hasn’t proven that just yet.

While one can appreciate the excitement around Lamb – and no one is sending him ill wishes this fall – everyone needs to not jump the gun here. As explosive as Lamb can be, let’s not forget how sluggish the Dallas offense looked as a whole last season. Dak Prescott and Co. didn’t live up to the hype.

The pieces were there to be one of the most explosive offenses around, but the opposite was the case. Mike McCarthy and his staff need to figure something out, as the people at AT&T Stadium won’t accept another poor showing on the offensive side of the ball in 2022. It’ll be on Prescott to step his game up too.

With Amari Cooper out of town, it will be on Lamb to lock down that No. 1 wide receiver spot, especially with Michael Gallup still recovering from his torn ACL. Lamb has what it takes to be a Pro Bowler and really make an impact. However, will he be the top wideout in the division over A.J. Brown and Terry McLaurin? That’s not looking likely. We could look back on things late in the season and be humbled, but for now, Dallas fans nee to calm down a bit.
