In mid March, the NY Giants made the tough call to release veteran safety Logan Ryan. Despite being a playmaker in his two seasons with the team, the G-Men decided to part ways with Ryan and it was a move that countless fans were not a fan of. As you might have been able to guess, Ryan wasn’t too pleased about things either.

Ryan doubled down on his feelings about NY’s decision recently, as he made a guest appearance on The Jim Rome Show. While speaking with Rome, Ryan didn’t hold back in saying that he most definitely took the news personally.

Former NY Giants safety Logan Ryan is not happy with the team

"“Yeah, I think I definitely took it personal,” Ryan told Rome. “It definitely is a little bit of a chip (on his shoulder) because I felt like I gave it all I had in New York. But I think new management – I’ve never been a part of a coach being fired as well as the GM. So, obviously a whole new regime over there looking to go in a different direction.”"

Ryan added that he understands its a business and that he’s not sure what he and James Bradberry, who was also released, could have done differently, but they’ve both been able to land on their feet. Ryan is now with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while Bradberry signed a $10 million deal with the Eagles. That’s a move the NY supporters aren’t happy about at all.

For Ryan, he was a total stud for the team, posting 211 total tackles combined in his two seasons over in East Rutherford. With his strong play, he was hoping he could be a part of the new era with the organization, but general manager Joe Schoen and Co. had other ideas. Because of this, it’s easy to see why Ryan might have felt a little slighted.

However, the Giants were clearly looking to move forward in a different direction and start fresh. This left a sour taste in Ryan’s mouth, but he’s now ready to make a splash with the Bucs in the NFC South. The Giants and Tampa Bay aren’t scheduled to face off in 2022, but should Ryan face NY down the road, you already know he’ll be motivated to play lights out against his former team.
