There will be zero excuses for NY Giants quarterback Daniel Jones this upcoming season. Jones, who missed the final six contests of 2021 due to a serious neck injury, is back to full health and he’s got confidence to back things up. Well, it looks like his neck injury is 100 percent part of the past now too.

At minicamp on Tuesday, head coach Brian Daboll said that Jones has been fully cleared for contact and that nothing is holding him back right now. If the Giants had a game this weekend, nothing would stop Jones from putting the pads on and leading out the offense out onto the field. This is obviously tremendous news for the team.

NY Giants QB Daniel Jones has been fully cleared from his neck injury

This is only going to let Jones play with a big more swagger moving forward. It was a total bummer seeing the young signal-caller miss the final stretch of the regular season. Now, though, Jones is going to keep throwing the ball around at minicamp and then take things to a new level once training camp arrives too.

He’ll have countless eyes on him once Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans gets here too, as the Giants supporters want to see what the QB will be able to get done in 2022. As everyone knows, Jones is in a contract year and Weeks 1-18 will be his chance to convince general manager Joe Schoen that he’s worthy of a new contract.

If he plays up to expectations, he could see his stay in East Rutherford extended. If that doesn’t happen – there are names already being linked to the Giants as potential first-round selections at QB for next season. Jones knows this and understands that this is his time to remind everyone of why he was once a No. 6 overall pick.

With Daboll making it clear that Jones is healthy too, nothing will be holding him back this upcoming season. This is the news that fans have been waiting to hear. Moving forward, people will be even more excited if Jones continues to make strong plays in practice. Things are only going to get better for him too once his weapons get healthy as well.

Unfortunately for Jones, Sterling Shepard, Kadarius Toney and Kenny Golladay have been in red jerseys at OTAs/minicamp, but the hope is they’ll all be ready for training camp. Once NY has its full offense rocking, people will really be able to see what this unit will be made of.
