3 biggest villains the NY Giants will face this season
With 17 games on the way this upcoming season, there’s most definitely going to be several matchups of intrigue for the NY Giants and new head coach Brian Daboll. While Daboll and the players will be focused on coming away with some head-turning wins – especially after going 4-13 last year – the fans will be keyed in on certain guys they’re not big supporters of.
This of course includes a long list of guys on NFC East squads, as those divisional matchups are always going to provide plenty of entertainment. In this piece, we take a look at three guys in particular who Giants Nation won’t be rooting for, with the group including an old rival who’s back in the division.
3. Washington Commanders QB Carson Wentz
After a rough year with the Indianapolis Colts, Carson Wentz is back in the NFC East. He’s now the starting quarterback for the Washington Commanders, with their fanbase hopeful he can finally live up to his first-round billing. Giants fans of course know Wentz from his days with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Now, Wentz will try to break NY hearts with a different team in the Commanders. Washington itself is looking to turn plenty of heads this year, as they’re loaded with a ton of young talent. This includes pass-rusher Chase Young, who is ready to get back on track after suffering his torn ACL.
With Wentz running the offense, he’ll look for Antonio Gibson and Terry McLaurin to make countless plays for him. Gibson has dealt with his fair share of injuries in the past, but he looked strong at times last season. McLaurin is a total beast, there’s no question about that. Wentz will love throwing him the pigskin.
Moving forward, Wentz will be ready to quiet all of his haters out there, with people who love Big Blue hoping that doesn’t happen. Wentz has a cannon for an arm, but his accuracy issues are not to be forgotten about. The G-Men would love nothing more than to intercept him a few times in 2022, with guys like Adoree’ Jackson, Aaron Robinson and more ready to make it happen.
