4. OT Ereck Flowers

Up next is one of the biggest draft busts in team history, Ereck Flowers. After having a tremendous career at Miami, the Giants opted to select the young tackle No. 9 overall in the 2015 NFL Draft. Boy, did it not work out. In his 3.5 year stint with the G-Men, Flowers gained the reputation for being one of the worst players on the team. During this time, Flowers never had a PFF player grade above a 70.

After three miserable seasons with the team, Flowers was waived five games into the 2018 campaign. Flowers, who is now a free agent, was able to land with the Washington Commanders and made noise after moving to guard. However, it’s easy to call him one of the worst draft selections in Giants history.

Despite how bad of a pick Flowers was, there were not many better options selected after him. Todd Gurley in his prime was one of the best RBs in the league, however, injuries derailed his career. DeVante Parker was also there, but the Giants were not in need of a player in that position.

The last decent player the Giants could’ve taken in that range was Arik Armstead, who has steadily been one of the better defensive lineman in the NFL. Even then, he was taken No. 17 overall, which may have been too far to consider drafting at the time. The Giants have made several draft blunders in recent years. However, due to the importance of need at the position of tackle at the time, Flowers takes the cake as the worst.
