1. LB Micah McFadden

When the season finally comes around, rookie Micah McFadden could be the player aired alongside Martinez at the linebacker position. The former Indiana ‘backer has all the upside that teams look for in a middle-round pick.

Throughout the last three collegiate seasons, McFadden blossomed into an elite linebacker prospect. He racked up 196 total tackles, 35 tackles for loss, 14 sacks and four interceptions over that stretch. McFadden was also extremely dominant in pass rush while in college. He posted a grade of 92.0 in 2021 according to PFF. This was the best among any Big Ten linebackers. He finished his college career with a total of 96 generated pressures at LB.

While he hasn’t been as great in coverage, there is still room to develop in this area. In 2021, he allowed 18 receptions, 161 yards and two touchdowns on just 22 targets. Given he can make strides in this area, he could develop into a quality all-around linebacker.

His ability to get after the quarterback could make him valuable from Day 1. The Giants have already made it clear that they want to disrupt opposing QBs as much as they can. If McFadden can do that from the start, a big role could be carved out for him. He’s surely going to be a player to watch during training camp.
