Now that he’s away from the team, it sure looks like former NY Giants tight end and first-round bust Evan Engram isn’t missing the days of being in East Rutherford. After things simply didn’t workout with Engram and the G-Men, he opted to sign a new deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars during the offseason.

Now, Engram is focused on helping the Jaguars turn things around, as they’ve been a laughingstock in recent years. This fall, the Giants and Jacksonville are all set to meet on Oct. 23 over in Florida. Engram clearly already has that matchup on his mind, as he basically guaranteed a victory over his former team on Instagram. NY supporters aren’t too happy about that.

Evan Engram calling out the NY Giants is a joke

It’s pretty obvious Engram’s “One of those a L” is referring to the New York-Jacksonville matchup, as he responded to an Instagram graphic showing the Giants playing each team that picked ahead of them in the 2022 NFL Draft.  While previously people knew James Bradberry has some revenge on his mind going up against the Giants, now Engram is ready to quiet down all of the NY haters who continue to call him out for poor play.

In the tweet above, one fan even predicted Engram to keep his drop issues going, with the tight end calling him a midget in his response. That’s a big yikes right there. Engram spent five seasons with the Giants, highlighted by making the Pro Bowl in 2020. That campaign, he posted 63 receptions for 654 yards. In total, he caught 262 balls for NY, with 2,828 yards and 16 touchdowns.

Engram never lived up to the hype at MetLife Stadium, which resulted with him leaving town and making his way to Jacksonville. Giants Nation as a whole celebrated that news, as they’re now ready to see what fourth-round pick Daniel Bellinger can do for this offense. Bellinger, a former San Diego State stud, is the favorite to win the starting job at training camp.

The decision was easy for general manager Joe Schoen to not bring Engram back to the team in 2022. Thanks to his latest social media activity, plenty of folks are going to circle the game against the Jaguars on their calendars. Engram will have to back up his strong words with a big game. If he doesn’t – and he records some embarrassing drops in a loss – then his notifications on Twitter and Instagram will be filled with Giants supporters blasting him.
