The week started off with a bang for the NY Giants and general manager Joe Schoen, as the team announced that tight end Daniel Bellinger, a fourth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, officially inked his rookie deal. Bellinger made a ton of noise during OTAs and minicamp, which has him as the favorite to win the starting gig.

While the Bellinger update was great to see, that doesn’t mean that Schoen and Co. are done finalizing things with their first-year players. Nope, nine of the 11 total draft picks have put the pen to paper, with wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson and safety Dane Belton still needing to do so for the G-Men.

For Robinson, he was a second-round pick out of Kentucky. The speedster was downright electric during his first taste of action suiting up for the Giants. This included catching a deep bomb from Daniel Jones. This play alone turned plenty of heads and had people talking about Robinson’s potential with the team. He figures to make a big splash during Year 1.

The same can be said for Belton, who should see plenty of action for new defensive coordinator Wink Martindale this fall and winter. With the losses of Logan Ryan, Jabrill Peppers and others in the secondary, Martindale is going to look at some of these youngsters to play beyond their years. Belton will need to rise to the occasion and play to the best of his abilities.

As for Bellinger, the former San Diego State standout was thrilled to get things over the line with the Giants and rightfully so. All offseason, Bellinger has been saying the right things and making quite the impression on the gridiron. Him going to tight end university to learn from George Kittle and Travis Kelce was also great to see and it should 100 percent help him for the campaign.

As a whole, this 2022 rookie class for the Giants looks to be something special. Kayvon Thibodeaux and Evan Neal are of course getting a ton of buzz and rightfully so, but the rest of the group is fired up to win over fans as well. While people are still waiting for Belton and Robinson to sign, there’s no worry here and everything should get finalized soon enough.
