4 toughest home games for the NY Giants this season
3. Week 3 vs. the Dallas Cowboys in primetime
The second home game of the season and the first to be in primetime, the Giants take on NFC East rivals the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football in Week 3. Last year the Giants got swept by the Cowboys. Dallas last season was considered to be one of the best teams in the entire league and were penciled in by many for an NFC Championship Game appearance.
However, that dream was cut short as the Cowboys were eliminated from the playoffs in the Wild Card Round at home to the San Francisco 49ers. Last season is considered to be a failure for the Cowboys as it was supposed to be ‘their year’, some would say.
That now means Dallas has gone 25 years winning just three postseason games with no Super Bowl appearances. The Cowboys postseason record might be a bragging point for Giants fans, but in reality, the Cowboys were and still will be a far better team than the Giants in 2022.
The Cowboys have seen some hefty departures this offseason, such as losing wide receiver Amari Cooper to the Cleveland Browns, defensive end Randy Gregory to the Denver Broncos, and offensive tackle La’el Collins to the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Cowboys and Eagles will mostly be the favorites to win the NFC East in 2022, and this home game for MNF should be a game the Giants need to look their best and play the role as underdogs to perfection that night on national television. This will be a contest to remember.
