New NY Giants defensive coordinator Wink Martindale is ready for things to change in East Rutherford. Now that Martindale is running the show defensively for head coach Brian Daboll, fans are loving the experience he’s bringing to the team. It’s going to make a big impact on the young players.

On top of his experience, Martindale is also known for his incredible passion. Whether its on the field or a meeting, Martindale is going to speak his mind and make sure his players are matching his energy. Luckily for fans out there, the Giants shared a video of Martindale with his group going over things and it’s exactly what you’d want to see.

NY Giants DC Wink Martindale will be huge for the team

As you can see in that video above, Martindale didn’t hold back in speaking with his players. He set out the vision, game plan, the expectations for each guy and more. You can tell by the way he carries himself that Martindale isn’t going to accept anything other than 100 percent effort from his playmakers.

While the G-Men lost several key pieces to the defense from last year, including James Bradberry and Logan Ryan, there’s still plenty of excitement surrounding the studs on that side of the ball. Leonard Williams and Azeez Ojulari are returners who fans are going to expect big things from, while No. 5 overall pick Kayvon Thibodeaux has people jacked up for Week 1 to arrive.

Thibodeaux has made it known that he’s ready to make life hell for opposing offensive linemen. Tibodeaux dreams of recording a sack a game, which would set the all-time NFL record for a rookie if he gets to 17. Thibodeaux has more than Ojulari’s rookie Giants sacks record in mind for this fall.

Whether or not Thibodeaux reaches that goal won’t matter to Martindale. What he will want from the first-round pick is that he buys into the system and showcases his high motor on each play. A lot of the offseason talk has gone to Daboll and offense coordinator Mike Kafka, but this latest Martindale video should remind folks of how great this defense can be under his direction.
