Accolades: five-time Pro Bowler, three-time All Pro member, led the league in tackles for loss in 1999

Jesse Armstead (778 tackles, 40 sacks and 12 interceptions) was a truly a legendary talent for the NY Giants, making it all the more unfortunate that he was unable to win a championship during his time with the team.

Following his eighth-round selection in the 1993 NFL Draft, it would take a few years for the young Armstead to catch on. However, the moment he became a full time starter in 1996, his reign of terror began. He recorded 100+ tackles each year in the next five seasons while also making five consecutive Pro Bowls. He even coming in third for Defensive Player of the Year voting in 1997.

While Armstead did come very close to winning a championship, as he was a part of the 2000 team that faced off against the Baltimore Ravens in the Super Bowl, the team would go on to lose 34-7 and Armstead would leave the Giants two seasons after. In his prime, Armstead was one of the best linebackers in the entire NFL.
