2. New coaches helping get the offense back on track

Daboll helped make Allen a better quarterback, and that’s definitely a contributing factor to him getting the head coaching job. Daboll cannot do this alone, however. Improving the Giants offense and Daniel Jones requires some extra help.

Mike Kafka was hired as the offensive coordinator to help Daboll with the project that is Daniel Jones and the Giants. Kafka spent the previous five seasons with the Chiefs where he enjoyed a lot of success, and was able to help mentor one of the games best quarterbacks: Patrick Mahomes.

It seems fairly obvious why the Giants brought Daboll and Kafka in. New York knows how much work this offense is going to require. Both of them had great success with their respective former teams, and that success is expected to translate over. If Daniel Jones could be half the quarterback that Allen and Mahomes are, that would be a serious upgrade. A lot of pressure will be on Jones this season.
