Earlier this week, the NY Giants stole the show on Twitter when Lawrence Taylor and Saquon Barkley helped announce that the team will be donning the classic blue jerseys for a pair of games this season. People are still hyped up about things on Twitter, as they surely can’t wait for the legacy games to arrive at MetLife Stadium on Oct. 2 and Dec. 4.

In similar fashion, the Dallas Cowboys, roughly 24 hours later, revealed that they’ll also be having some throwback flavor this season, donning old jerseys and helmets going up against New York on Thanksgiving Day. So, Dallas makes their announcement right after NY? Oh, and these jerseys – we’re not a fan.

Dallas Cowboys announced throwback jerseys for the NY Giants matchup

If Dallas is trying to look good, play good, then they might want to make a switch leading up to the primetime showdown with the Giants. Millions of eyes will be on the Cowboys and G-Men for this battle, as the Turkey Day matchups provide nothing but entertainment for football fans across the globe.

A quick look at Twitter showcases people clowning the Cowboys for pulling off this move. The same can’t be said for the Giants, as fans, team legends and more are fired up about the classic blue jerseys making a return for this upcoming season. NY brought home Super Bowl glory in the blue gear, which of course brings back fantastic memories for so many folks.

Whenever the Cowboys and Giants face off, it’s sure to be an intriguing contest. In 2022, the two teams will face off in Week 3 for some Monday Night Football at MetLife Stadium, and then follow things up in late November at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. Dallas will be expected to come out on top in those games, but Brian Daboll’s men will have something to say about this.

Time and time again, the Cowboys have disappointed their fans with their performances on the field. Some might like these throwback uniforms they’ll be rocking against the G-Men, but we think it’s a big swing and a miss. The Giants may be focused on the Titans for Week 1, but they’ll of course love to silence Dallas come Thanksgiving as well.
