4 tough decisions Brian Daboll must make during NY Giants camp
By Zak Musso
1. Should any young guys unseat veterans?
While it is hard for some fans and even coaches to accept this, 2022 is all about building for the future. The Giants need to learn whether their young guys have a future with the team and the only way to do that is through training camp competitions and game action.
While seeing how Jones and Barkley are going to play is intriguing, these players have their starting positions locked in. Some other guys do not. Young wide receivers Wan’Dale Robinson and Kadarius Toney are entrenched in training camp battles with Darius Slayton, Kenny Golladay, and potentially even Sterling Shepard to see who the featured wide recievers will be.
Rookie third-round pick Josh Ezeudu will try to unseat left guard Shane Lemieux, while fellow rookie third-round pick Cor’Dale Flott will try to unseat Darnay Holmes as the slot corner. Aaron Robinson will try to cement himself as the corner opposite of Adoree Jackson. All of these battles will be worked out in camp with Daboll will being the final judge of who wins and who loses.
