1. CB Kevin King

Kevin King has been among the most scrutinized players at his position. Through the first four seasons of his career, he experienced an array of struggles. He allowed 1,870 yards, 122 receptions and nine touchdowns during this time.

But King underwent a true breakout in 2021. Many of the problems that plagued him in the past were gone. He became a solid cornerback in the Green Bay Packers secondary.

With Jaire Alexander missing 13 games during the regular season, King was able to step into his role and compete on a consistent basis. King appeared in 10 games in 2021. He recorded 29 total tackles, one interception, and three defended passes. While he was in coverage for 196 snaps, he allowed just two touchdowns and 19 receptions.

He posted a defensive grade of 70.6 according to PFF. He also recorded a tackling grade of 78.4, a run defense grade of 72.0, and a pass-rush grade of 74.4. This showcased improvements in each area of his game.

Adding King to the cornerback room could be a risk, but it could also bring depth for the Giants. There is a chance that King could have been a one-hit wonder last season. But at just 27 years old, it may be worth the risk. If last season wasn’t a fluke, and King has finally become a reliable option at corner, the Giants could potentially get him at a steal.
