3 biggest NY Giants takeaways from Day 2 of training camp

2. The offense is experimenting
The 2021 Giants offense was one of the worst in recent NFL history. There weren’t many risks taken and the skills players had were vastly underutilized.
Through these two days of training camp, the offense already looks to be trying new things.
Both Wan’Dale Robinson and Kadarius Toney took snaps out of the backfield. Both of them were utilized as runners out of the backfield while in college and the Giants could look to do that in the NFL.
In Toney’s four seasons at Florida, he recorded 66 rushing attempts. He totaled 580 rushing yards and two touchdowns, all while averaging 8.8 yards per carry. Last season, he recorded just three rushing attempts. This new offense could be looking to change that.
Robinson could look to be a secret weapon on this offense. As noted, he has already played well in both of these sessions. His ability as a runner could make him an essential piece.
Over the past three seasons, Robinson recorded 141 rushing attempts for 691 yards and four touchdowns.
