8. Saquon Barkley wants to remind people of how great he can be

The past two seasons have been a nightmare for Saquon Barkley, everyone knows that. Adversity has been the name of the game for the running back, with a torn ACL being among the injuries he’s had to overcome. The Giants used a No. 2 overall pick on Barkley hoping he’d help get them back to a Super Bowl.

That hasn’t been the case, with the team not even winning a playoff game since he’s joined the squad. Barkley is hoping to quiet down all of his haters and there’s no question that he’s using his tough past as a motivating factor. He wants everyone to once again think he can be a top RB in the league.

“The last two years not going how I wanted – you know, I’ve kind of been reflecting on that,” Barkley said over at Giants training camp in East Rutherford. “Everything happens for a reason. The adversity, the injuries that were put in my way these last two years, God’s got a bigger plan and it’s all going to work out.”

Barkley is confident that he’ll be able to get back to his old ways, which of course will be loved by the NY faithful. Barkley figures to have an increased role in the passing game this year too. That alone will be incredibly beneficial for the offense.
