4 NY Giants players who must become leaders in 2022
By Zach Wolpin
3. CB Adoree’ Jackson
With James Bradberry in Philadelphia, the top corner position is Adoree’ Jackson’s for the taking. He has the most consistent starting experience out of any other cornerback on the roster. Entering his sixth year as a pro, and second with New York, Adoree’ is expected to answer the call and become the leader of a young secondary that can learn a lot from him.
A big reason Jackson is with NY is because of former Giant, Logan Ryan. The two spent some time together in Tennessee, and Ryan recruited Jackson to come play in New York. Jackson isn’t expected to have an All-Pro season or be a top corner in the league. Rather, the Giants want to see some consistency from him.
Martindale will have a big decision to make. Jackson goes from CB2, to CB1, and now the backup corner position needs to be filled. The Giants have brought back a player who spent 2015-16 with the team, Andrew Adams.
A familiar face in Darnay Holmes, someone who’s spent all three of his pro seasons with the Giants, could fill that void. Another potential player who can fill the CB2 position is the rookie from LSU, Cor’Dale Flott. Martindale certainly has a few options to choose from.
