1. OT Andrew Thomas
Playing for any New York professional sports team, regardless of the sport, comes with more spotlight than the average franchise. This is true for the third year pro out of Georgia, Andrew Thomas. Clearly at the time, the Giants felt extremely high on him, using the No. 4 overall pick to bring him to NY.
The front office and coaching staff have changed since then, but Thomas is still the best offensive lineman on the team from what we’ve seen in the past. That is why he has the potential to become a leader on that offensive line in 2022.
Injuries left the Giants plugging holes in their offensive line last season. New additions have been added to the team through the draft and offseason. The biggest of those additions has to be 2021 Consensus All-American from Alabama, Evan Neal. His potential to make the offensive line better is through the roof.
We think Neal improves the o-line tremendously and it takes some pressure off Thomas to play perfectly all the time. John Feliciano and Mark Glowinski were also added to the team to help a younger offensive line have some veteran presence. Look for Thomas to be the straw that stirs the drink in this case for this group.
