Basically every NFL Mock Draft NY Giants fans have seen this offseason for 2023 has the G-Men going with a quarterback to replace Daniel Jones. Jones, entering his fourth year with the franchise, is in a make-or-break campaign with the team after he didn’t have his fifth-year option picked up.

This was a no-brainer for general manager Joe Schoen and Co. So, who will end up being the QB taken in the first round of next spring’s draft for the Giants? Well, hold the phone on that one, folks. Bleacher Report recently dropped a new mock draft for people to take a look at, and they have the Giants taking Georgia cornerback Kelee Ringo with the No. 9 overall pick.

Kelee Ringo going in the first round to the NY Giants would make sense

"“The Giants could be in the market to replace Daniel Jones through the draft, but in this scenario, adding a potential shutdown corner in Kelee Ringo is the move. The 6’2″, 205-pound corner has everything NFL teams want in that position. Teams are going to love his combination of size and speed. The pick-six to seal the National Championship Game is the kind of playmaking the Giants are lacking in the secondary.”"

Ringo is no question one of the best defensive backs in the country, and he has the bragging rights of calling himself a national champion. Last season, Ringo was downright electric with the Georgia Bulldogs, helping Kirby Smart and UGA record an unreal season. Things of course ended with the natty victory over Alabama.

Ringo finished last season with 34 total tackles, two interceptions and eight pass deflections. He’s an electric player and would of course be a welcome addition for the Giants defense. The cornerback situation for the G-Men is a bit of a mess right now, as the loss of former Pro-Bowl playmaker James Bradberry still stings.

Plenty of people out there are hoping that the Giants will go with a quarterback like Bryce Young or Will Levis in the first round next season, but if Jones plays well and lands a new contract with the team, then grabbing Ringo before someone else does would be a wise move too. Everything really depends on how the Giants perform this year, but the thought of Ringo suiting up for NY and balling out for Daboll and defensive coordinator Wink Martindale should excite the fanbase.
