The NY Giants are one of the younger teams in the NFL, and this past draft they bolstered their young talent with excellent selections. In particular, the Giants two first-round picks, EDGE Kayvon Thibodeaux and OT Evan Neal, have been impressing the coaching staff lining up against each other. On top of those two, Daniel Bellinger and Wan’Dale Robinson could turn out to be very valuable offensive pieces for New York this season, and in the future.
With preseason action coming up very shortly, fans will get to see these talented rookies in a live game for the first time. Throughout the summer so far, these four have impressed the coaching staff and press with their improvements day-by-day, and overall talent.
4. Pass-rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux
The Giants had a need for a pass-rusher and they got just that with the fifth overall selection in this past draft. Thibodeaux could turn out to be an x-factor for New York’s defense right away, and many expect just that.
As of right now the plan is for the fifth overall pick to start Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans. So far he has been impressing many, and during camp he has been giving the first team offensive line a hard time.
In his senior season at Oregon, the youngster recorded seven sacks in only just 10 games. Numerous times he was disturbing opposing teams’ quarterbacks, with his ability to get past offensive linemen quickly.
Coming out of Oregon, he himself has high expectations. The rookie expects nothing but the best on the field, and fans should be excited for the energy Thibodeaux will bring to the defense not only this season, but hopefully for a long time.
