Early NY Giants 2023 7-round NFL Mock Draft

Texas A&M DB Antonio Johnson in the second round
There’s no doubt the Giants secondary desperately needs help, and adding young talented secondary prospects will be a focus in the 2023 draft. Antonio Johnson from Texas A&M fits that bill. Johnson is a 6-3, 200-pound corner who has 93 tackles, one sack and one interception in his two-year career. In Sports Illustrated’s 2023 draft profile, Johnson was spoken highly of:
"“Ball finds him. Functional athlete with adequate speed and fluidity. Can click and close on out routes and in breakers. Even in his pedal, with the ability to weave into support. Mirrors tight ends and slot receivers in man coverage. Feet react before he does on screen plays, arriving prior to blocking setups. Eyes follow the hips of his assignment. Fast enough to float from the line of scrimmage to the hash at the snap.”"
While there’s some exciting, young players for the NY secondary right now, this is a group that overall is going to need to keep growing. Johnson may not be a household name just yet, but that could certainly change with an impressive 2022 campaign. If he’s still available in the second round when the G-Men are on the clock, Schoen should rock with him.
