NY Giants fans are still furious with the Madden rating for OT Andrew Thomas
There’s always going to be plenty of angry folks when it comes to the Madden ratings each year, but it’s hard to argue with why so many NY Giants supporters are up in arms right now. With the preseason right around the corner, there’s no question that one of the most durable, reliable studs on the team is left tackle Andrew Thomas.
He’s coming off a strong 2021 campaign and there’s hope he can play at a Pro Bowl level in 2022. According to Madden, they don’t think Thomas is all that strong. Matter of fact, they don’t even think Thomas is the best offensive lineman on the team, as they somehow gave him a 76 rating and placed Evan Neal ahead of him at 77.
Madden totally blew it with the rating for NY Giants star Andrew Thomas
No disrespect to Neal, NY’s No. 7 overall pick from the 2022 NFL Draft, but he has no business being rated better than Thomas. Neal has what it takes to be a standout for the G-Men, but he’s still a rookie. There’s going to be plenty of growing pains for him, which we’ve seen thus far at training camp.
As for Thomas, he’s the leader of the offensive line unit. With him protecting Daniel Jones’ blindside, the pressure will be on him to deliver and the NY faithful have full belief in him. That’s why people are so annoyed that Madden has disrespected him.

A 76 for Thomas truly is a slap in the face. How could Madden have bottled this one so bad? While Thomas isn’t going to care about this and instead he’ll be ready to do whatever he can do to try and help the G-Men get to the postseason, his fans sure have no problem calling Madden out.
Throughout the season, Thomas is going to prove all of his haters wrong. Now, he’ll have even more motivation to remind Madden how great he can be. Come the 2023 edition of the game, there’s no reason Thomas shouldn’t be in the 80s. We can only hope Madden wakes up by then to give him the numbers he deserves.
