2. OL Marcus McKethan tore his ACL and is out for the season
Unfortunately, there was some devastating news to come in over the weekend: fifth-round pick Marcus McKethan will miss his rookie campaign. On Friday night, the offensive guard went down with what looked to be a serious injury, and the Giants wasted no time in sending out a cart to get him off the field.
On Saturday morning, the team confirmed that McKethan had suffered a torn ACL and placed him on Injured Reserve. McKethan missing the campaign is a bit of a blow from a depth standpoint. While he wasn’t going to be a starter, the first-year lineman was hoping to make a splash and be ready whenever Brian Daboll needed him to take the field.
This just adds to the long list of injuries for the Giants in recent seasons. You’ve got to feel for McKethan too. He was no question jacked up to put on the pads and turn some heads at MetLife for the Giants faithful to see him for the first time at the home stadium. Instead, he went down and now people won’t be able to see him do his thing until next year.
