Rooting for NY Giants tight end Andre Miller to make the 53-man roster has been quite easy for the fanbase. Out of Maine, Allen didn’t hear his name called during the 2022 NFL Draft, but he signed with the Giants and had been making quite the splash for the team this summer. Now, no one knows when he’ll be able to get back on the field.

According to Giants insider Art Stapleton, Miller fractured his forearm during practice on Sunday and he’ll now be out of action for quite some time. This is a major bummer, as the 6-3, 223-pounder was pushing for some extended playing time this campaign.

NY Giants TE Andre Miller fracturing his forearm is terrible news

During the Fan Fest scrimmage on Friday night, Miller had an impressive showing, which included him catching a short touchdown pass from Daniel Jones. Not only does he have soft hands, but Miller has also been stepping his game up in the blocking department. With his serious injury, though, the Giants won’t have him around for the start of the campaign.

Fellow rookie Daniel Bellinger, a fourth-rounder out of San Diego State, appears locked in as the starter. Behind Bellinger, however, there aren’t a ton of reliable bodies there to help out the G-Men. Veteran TE Ricky Seals-Jones was expected to be a difference maker for this team, but he’s missed several sessions of late due to injury.

With Allen raising his stock in recent weeks, it felt like a real possibility that he’d be with the team come Week 1 and that Seals-Jones would be sent packing. This new injury for Miller has changed things quite a bit and it has most certainly complicated life for head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen.

This of course isn’t the only rough injury news to arrive for the Giants either, as it was announced over the weekend that first-year offensive guard Marcus McKethan tore his ACL and he’ll be out for the season. The Giants used a fifth-round pick on McKethan this past spring. We can only hope that no more unfortunate injuries arrive for the Giants this summer. This team needs some luck on their side for once.
