4 predictions for NY Giants first preseason game vs New England

3. Giants take step in finding new identity under Brian Daboll
A new head coach in the building means a new system of how the team is going to function. Daboll looks to make his voice heard, while also understanding the grind that players go through in a 17-week regular season. His 9:00 a.m. start to training camp seems to be going over well with the Giants.
Finding the team’s identity is not going to happen right away. It might not even happen in the first month of the season. Daboll can preach the brand and culture he’s trying to create in that locker room, but it’s up to the players to buy in and want to be great. Take the previous six NY Giants seasons, for example. A new head coach every two seasons emphasizes a team struggling to find an identity.
It will be exciting to see what Daboll can do to help a franchise that has been bottom of the barrel in the past decade. The NY Giants need a new and fresh identity, one that the team has not had in the past. Hopefully the 2022 NFL season can be the start to a new era of NY Giants football. It will begin on Thursday against the Patriots.
