3. Kadarius Toney

After an unimpressive rookie season in which he only caught 39 passes for 420 yards in 10 games, Kadarius Toney is looking to bounce back and prove the haters wrong in 2022, and with a seemingly new and improved coaching staff, it seems as if Toney will have the green light to breakout.

One of the biggest factors in Toney’s lack of success last season was the horrifically bad play calling from Jason Garrett and Freddie Kitchens. Two proven incompetent play callers that the NY Giants front office, for some reason, decided would be the best staff to put together on the offense.

Coming out of college, Toney was seen as one of the most dynamic receivers in the country. possessing elite abilities with the ball in his hands as a receiver, running back, and sometimes even quarterback. However, Garrett saw this and decided to use Toney in the worst possible way, limiting his ability to move around in the open field while only allowing Toney to run the ball three times all season.

Another reason for Toney’s lack of success was injuries, as he was only available to play in 10 games last year. It was really just a combination of factors that led to Toney’s downfall.

However, with a coaching staff that is seemingly looking to maximize Toney and his abilities, there is a very good chance we see him turn into a star this season, as he has been receiving a ton of targets during training camp when available to play. At this point, it really just feels like more of a question on if Toney will remain healthy this season more than anything. We know just how talented the young receiver is.
