The Giants have been struggling to find their cornerback that is going to line up across from Adoree’ Jackson on Sundays. It’s a wide open battle right now, and front-runner Aaron Robinson has been struggling mightily in his first two preseason games.

New York had their first preseason game vs. the Patriots and Robinson was targeted as a weak threat in the Giants secondary. In just one drive, he was beat on the same move twice, allowing the Patriots to catch a deep ball, and then had a taunting penalty called on him when he broke up a pass that would have gone for a touchdown.

Robinson’s struggles continued into last night. He did not stand out as much as he did in the first preseason game, but he clearly has not won that CB2 job yet. Rookie out of LSU Cor’Dale Flott was a name that bounced around to challenge Robinson, but he’s been out with a groin injury. Darnay Holmes has been a household name for the Giants the past two seasons, and he has as good a shot as anyone to win the spot across from Jackson. These next few weeks will determine who’s capable of being CB2 for Big Blue.
