2. TE Daniel Bellinger
No matter how good you may be or what position you play, being a rookie in the NFL is a challenge at first and it takes time to adjust. Being asked to start as a rookie is even harder, and that is what the Giants are asking Daniel Bellinger to do.
The rookie out of San Diego State has had his ups and downs during training camp and preseason. In a tight end room that is extremely light due to injury, Bellinger needs to continue to grow and develop in this offense.
Bellinger was targeted three times last night, catching two of those passes for 10 yards. The biggest knock on his second preseason game was the one pass he did not catch. It bounced off his hands and the Bengals recorded an interception on that same play. His tipped pass gave Daniel Jones an unnecessary INT on what was a solid performance overall. New York still won the game and it’s only the preseason, but those are the little mistakes than can win or lose you a game in the regular season. Bellinger still needs to work on cleaning some things up.
