With the NY Giants recording their thrilling 25-22 victory over the Bengals, we saw many standout players who made a huge difference in the game. Obviously it is the preseason, but you can’t not be excited about some of the guys who have performed well in the last couple of weeks.

You can definitely tell that there is a different energy surrounding this NY Giants team that originates from the coaching staff. It is a very exciting thing to see and hopefully it all translates to the regular season.

Some of the players who performed well this past weekend were a little surprising. Though, this is a good thing, as it only increases their odds of making the final roster at the end of the preseason. With that being said, here are four players who stood out in the NY Giants victory against the Bengals and we’re getting started with a player who will have plenty of eyes on him this campaign.

4. OT Evan Neal

After a “disappointing” preseason opener against the Patriots last week, No. 7 overall pick Evan Neal bounced back well vs the Bengals – looking much better as both a pass, and run blocker, which was great to see.

Last week, Neal struggled sometimes with his balance, overstepping on occasions and ending up on the ground. However, this was almost non-existent in going up against Cincinnati. We’re not saying Neal was perfect, but compared to last week, he was much better.

If Neal can continue to play at a high level prior to the start of the regular season, he will likely wipe away the small amount of doubts surrounding his selection so early in the first round. On top of that, it will also provide the fanbase with more confidence in him going out and providing strong protection for quarterback Daniel Jones.
