4 players who stood out in NY Giants win vs. Bengals
2. QB Davis Webb
After re-joining the NY Giants this offseason, Davis Webb was expected to be the QB3 of the team. While he will still likely remain the third string QB of the Giants, it is still nice to see him play so well. Especially after having quite an uneventful game against the Patriots to open the preseason.
In the game against the Bengals, Webb completed 22 of his 27 pass attempts for 204 yards and two scores. Yup, he’s looking very nice for a third stringer.
Last season, one of the biggest issues that plagued the NY Giants was their lack of QB depth. Both Mike Glennon and Jake Fromm played quite poorly every time they stepped on the field. However, it seems as if the Giants could have a legitimate QB room with the combined talents of Jones, Tyrod Taylor and Webb.
With their only being one game remaining on the preseason schedule, that being against the Jets, Webb will likely see even more snaps, as there is a good chance we see the starters play even less time. If he is able to maintain the level of play we saw this week, there is a very good chance he remains the QB3 of the team and provides some pretty solid depth at the position.
