1. WR Darius Slayton

Darius Slayton being featured here should be a stunner to no one. Throughout the offseason, trade rumors were coming up left and right. Now only that, but there’s been plenty of talk about Schoen just cutting him to clear up more than $2 million in cap space. With a trade now looking unlikely, Schoen should make the call and release Slayton.

Luckily for the Giants, the wide receiver depth is strong right now. The addition of Wan’Dale Robinson has been great to see, as the second-round pick is expected to play a big role for the offense this season and beyond. While Slayton has big-play potential, he’s just been too inconsistent.

What might make people nervous here is that Kenny Golladay continues to disappoint and he’s not living up to his massive four-year contract. Still, though, the Giants aren’t going to cut Golladay and no one is going to want to trade for him right now thanks to the big bucks he’s owed. Cutting Slayton feels like the right move. When will it come? Hopefully soon.
