3 NY Giants players in dire need of a big performance vs. Jets
With the preseason finale kicking off on Sunday, alongside the final cuts coming soon too, some players on the NY Giants are in desperate need of a big game in order to try and secure their spot on the final roster. Not only that, some also need to regain the trust of the fanbase.
The NY Giants have already begun to release some players from the roster, cutting Robert Foster, Jordan Akins, Andrew Adams, and a few more in order to either make space for new additions, or make preparations for the final cuts.
You can tell the heat is really on for some guys to put on a show vs. the Jets. With that being said, here are three NY Giants players in dire need of a big performance at MetLife vs the NYJ.
3. CB Aaron Robinson
Obviously, the NY Giants are not going to cut the third-round pick from last season. However, Aaron Robinson is in need of a big game more for the sake of showcasing that he can play this season more than anything.
After an absolutely putrid first game against the Patriots, Robinson bounced back a bit vs. the Bengals. While he was not all that great, it was still at least somewhat better than his performance against New England .
It is doubtful that a high level performance against the Jets warrants Robinson the CB2 spot, as it likely now belongs to Darnay Holmes. However, Robinson could potentially solidify his role as the CB3 this season. Regardless, he will have to be ready to play, as there aren’t many other suitors for the third CB spot on the team.
If Robinson is unable to perform well then honestly, there is a good chance we don’t see much of him this year depending on how well rookie Cor’Dale Flott plays. Robinson is in a very tough position, but he must make most out of the opportunities he is given.
A big performance in the last week will not only boost Robinson’s confidence heading into the regular season, but it will also likely give fans a sigh of relief.
