2. RB Jashaun Corbin
Following the emergence of Gary Brightwell and Antonio Williams, it has become more and more uncertain as to whether or not UDFA Jashaun Corbin will make the roster or not.
Corbin has played very solid thus far in his two preseason games. However, in both games he was overshadowed by other backs. Corbin has shown a lot of promise as a receiver, but in the one game he was featured heavily as a runner in, he did not do much: running the ball nine times, which was a team high, for 27 yards and one TD.
This isn’t bad by any means, however, both Brightwell and Williams played better than Corbin during their times as the lead back. With it seeming like all three of the running backs will play this Sunday, Corbin really needs to step his game up if he wants a chance to make the final roster. While it is doubtful that he plays a meaningful role in the regular season, just making the roster would be a huge accomplishment for Corbin.
The increased RB depth of the Giants has been an interesting development this season, as it seems like the NY Giants could potentially go three backs deep during the regular season. Whether Corbin will be a part of this or not is unknown, as it really depends on if the NY Giants keep, or release veteran Matt Breida.
