With the NY Giants getting ready for the regular season, the team unfortunately suffered a loss in the preseason finale going up againdt the Jets. Sure, the Jets have East Rutherford bragging rights for now.

A lot of players on the NY Giants outperformed their expectations this preseason, though, showing that they have potential to make a difference come time for the regular season. This game was no exception, as we saw many players perform at a fantastic level, helping the NY Giants come very close to winning the game.

The NFL’s final cuts deadline is Aug. 30, meaning the team will have some difficult decisions to make. However, after this game, a couple of players may have secured their spot on the team to enter the regular season. With that being said, here are three NY Giants players who stood out in the team’s win against the NY Jets.

3. DB Nathan Meadors

Nathan Meadors is entering his fourth year in the league, but was seen as somewhat of a longshot to make the roster. However, after a fantastic performance against the Jets this week, he could potentially make the squad.

In this game, Meadors tallied a team leading 12 combined tackles, making a ton of great tackles in the open field. It is also worth noting that Meadors even snagged an interception in the fourth quarter, but it was called back for defensive pass interference on Olaijah Griffin.

Meadors had an all around fantastic game, likely securing his spot on the roster. With the NY Giants only having one proven safety on the roster in Xavier McKinney, you never know, Meadors could potentially see playing time during the regular season.

According to ESPN, Meadors is listed as the backup FS behind McKinney – making his chances of securing his spot on the NY Giants roster even higher.
