2. QB Davis Webb
After backup QB Tyrod Taylor went down with a back injury with only 2:33 remaining in the first quarter, third stringer Davis Webb was forced to step in a little early. During his time on the field, Webb was nothing short of great, as he completed 30 of his 38 pass attempts for 202 yards and one TD.
While it is currently unknown as to how severe Taylor’s injury is, NY Giants fans have to feel a little more secure about their QB depth after watching how well Webb has played thus far this summer.
Overall, Webb completed 60 out of his 81 passes for 458 yards and 3 TDs while also throwing zero interceptions throughout the preseason. Yes, it is just the preseason, however, there are a lot of reasons to be more confident in Webb than either Mike Glennon or Jake Fromm.
Webb will likely remain the third QB on the roster this season. However, it is always nice to know that you have a QB with his talent as the emergency option say both Jones and Taylor go down with injury.
