With the New York Giants not in action until next Sunday, general manager Joe Schoen – in the middle of all the roster shuffling – will have some extra time off this weekend to hit the road and enjoy some needed time off. Except he won’t be relaxing at all. Instead, Schoen will be headed to the Ohio State vs. Notre Dame matchup to take a look at some young talent.

With Schoen traveling to Ohio Stadium, there’s going to be countless future NFL studs out on the field. Obvioiusly, No. 1 on the list in this case will be star quarterback C.J. Stroud. Stroud has high first-round pick written all over him and the G-Men very well could be in the market for a new signal-caller next April. Let the speculation begin.

Stroud has all the tools a GM would want in a future QB. He’s got a rocket for an arm and Stroud also has wheels that countless peers of his are quite jealous of. In today’s NFL, having dual-threat abilities really makes you stand out and football fans are drooling at the thought of Stroud taking over the offense for their favorite team down the road.

This includes the NY supporters. First, though, we have to wait and see what happens with Daniel Jones this campaign. The former No. 6 overall pick knows that his future is on the line this year. If he plays well, then Schoen and Co. could present him with a new contract to remain the starter for the NFC East side.

If Jones struggles and the Giants don’t show major improvements, he’ll be on his way out of town and the G-Men will use their top pick on a new, exciting quarterback. Could that player end up being Stroud? There’s been several names brought up for the Giants. The list includes Stroud, Bryce Young, Will Levis, Cameron Ward and others.

From start to finish this season, Stroud is going to look to keep playing at a high level to raise his draft stock, while Jones will hope to silence his haters. Come this weekend, Stroud can consider this a potential Big Apple audition. We’ll find out this weekend if the Heisman Trophy contender delivers or not.
