3 reasons Daniel Jones will be the NY Giants MVP in 2022
1. The offensive line will make an unreal difference for Daniel Jones
While there’s been some injuries up front, there’s no denying that Schoen made revamping the offensive line a priority this offseason. In addition to using the No. 7 overall pick on right tackle Evan Neal, the Giants have also brought in center Jon Feliciano and right guard Mark Glowinski. This is tremendous for Jones.
We don’t have to worry about left tackle, with Andrew Thomas manning that spot. The hope is that Thomas can continue to make strides this season and potentially earn himself a trip to the Pro Bowl. Right now, though, there is some worry at left guard, as Shane Lemieux is dealing with a foot injury and isn’t expected to play Week 1.
There’s going to be some movement there. Despite that, there’s been a needed makeover for the line and it’s going to make a strong difference for Jones. He’s not going to be running for his life on a consistent basis and will actually have some time to not only make throws, but also scan the field and potentially take off if need be. If Jones does have a head-turning year, the play of the offensive line will be a key reason for it.
