The 2022 offseason was a time of change for the New York Giants. Between bringing in a new coaching staff and front office, plus adding several young and talented players, this team has made an effort to be better this campaign.

At the moment, the Giants roster has a blend of young players and seasoned veterans. Among each group, several players have faced endless criticism. But for many of them, the criticism won’t end until they make their presence felt during the regular season.

Some of these players are coming off of a disappointing preseason. Others showed flashes of potential but were still yet to show a large enough sample size.

A solid Week 1 outing against the Tennessee Titans could help these players correct the course. It could also help end the criticism that they have faced.

4. QB Daniel Jones

For the time being, Daniel Jones will continue to be the most talked about player on this Giants team. As the starting quarterback, all eyes are on him. Since taking over as the starter in 2019, Jones has been among the most scrutinized players in the NFL.

And when looking at his production, much of his slander is warranted. He has heavily struggled to hold on to the ball. And at times, it has been questioned whether or not he should be the future of this franchise. A strong outing in Week 1 could help this end.

The Giants made an effort to rebuild the offensive line during the offseason. They also added playmakers to their offense. Improving both these areas will give Jones his best chance to succeed up to this point.

Throughout his first three seasons, Jones has appeared in 38 games. He has recorded 37 starts. He currently has a starting record of 12-25. On the field, Jones has thrown for 8,398 yards, 45 touchdowns, and 29 interceptions.

With the Giants declining to pick up his fifth-year option, this could be the last chance for Jones. A big performance could help set the tone for the fourth-year quarterback.
