3. WR Kenny Golladay

The Giants are one year removed from giving Kenny Golladay a four-year, $72 million contract. During his first season in New York, Golladay left much to be desired. He came across as a shell of the player that he was during his tenure with the Detroit Lions.

Golladay appeared in 14 games during the 2021 season. He recorded 37 receptions, 521 receiving yards, and zero touchdowns. This was the first time in his career that he had recorded zero touchdowns in a season.

Golladay spent the first four seasons of his career with the Lions. He appeared in 47 games with the team. During this time, he was one of the best deep threat receivers in the NFL, recording 183 receptions, 3,068 receiving yards, and 21 touchdowns.

Throughout his entire career, Golladay has played an entire season just once. Injuries have been a constant worry that have plagued him. He could be heading into the 2022 season at less than 100 percent, marking another season impacted by injury.

After a preseason that saw him appear in all three games, many are questioning Golladay’s standing in the wide receiver room.

His outing throughout preseason could be attributed to off-season surgery that Golladay had. But if the veteran wide receiver starts the season on a rough note against the Titans, he could be in for a long year. The Giants brought him in to be their WR1 and he is yet to live up to that standard.
