With the start of the 2022 NFL season right around the corner, the NY Giants are set to face off against the Tennessee Titans in Week 1. As things stand now, the Giants are 5.5 point underdogs, which honestly, isn’t too bad when you consider the gap in records between the two teams last season.

Obviously it is difficult to predict what team will win this exciting matchup. However, I believe the NY Giants have a chance to pull off the upset. The team is not only much more talented than it was last season, but it is already better coached.

The chances of the NY Giants winning will only increase if we see some pretty solid performances from some of the smaller stars of the team. With that being said, here are three under-the-radar NY Giants players who must play well in the season opener vs. the Titans.

3. OL Ben Bredeson

With NY Giants starting left guard Shane Lemieux hitting the Injured Reserve, he will miss at least the first four games of the season. Meaning that someone will have to take his spot as the starting left guard of the NY Giants for the time being. With that in mind, the NY Giants decided that Ben Bredeson will play in Lemieux’s place for now.

Bredeson was with the NY Giants last season, playing in 294 snaps with the offense while starting in one game. He may not have been spectacular, but compared to some of the other offensive linemen on the NY Giants, it’s safe to say he wasn’t necessarily terrible.

It was somewhat surprising to see that Bredeson was starting over rookie Josh Edeuzu, however, it is likely that the NY Giants would like to ease Ezeudu into the offense as opposed to throwing him to the wolves in Week 1.

As surprising as this move may have been, there is still a good chance that Bredeson could win over the spot of starting guard if he is able to perform at a high level while Lemieux is out. Regardless, Bredeson must be ready, as the NY Giants cannot afford weak links on the offensive line anymore.
