2. LB Tae Crowder

With starting linebacker Blake Martinez being released, it seems as if Tae Crowder will need to play a huge role for the NY Giants defense this season. After seeing what he did in 2021, this could get ugly.

While statistically Crowder seemingly had a great season, racking up 130 combined tackles, two interceptions, and six pass deflections, watching him play told a completely different story, as a lot of his tackles came late, showing his inability to make a read against the run. In addition to this, Crowder was also quite abysmal in coverage, looking borderline useless in that area of defense.

This season, it seems as if the NY Giants are looking to replace Crowder after drafting both Micah McFadden and Darrian Beavers, both of whom looked tremendous in the preseason. Unforutnately, it is down to just McFadden after the NY Giants lost Beavers to a torn ACL in their preseason game against the Bengals.

As nice as it would be to see McFadden take over the role as the starting linebacker, Crowder still has a chance to turn things around in New York and potentially seal his spot as the starter. However, it all starts against the Titans. If Crowder wants a chance to keep his starting spot and impress the new coaching staff, then he must play at a high level to start the season.
