Believe it or not, it’s just about time to say goodbye to summer and embrace fall. With that said, fall means football is back and we couldn’t be happier about things. That same feeling is felt by the New York Giants supporters, as there’s hope that this team will be able to turn things around in a big way in 2022.

There’s been plenty of highs and lows for the organization in recent months. Some of the major topics of conversation have of course surrounded the play of Daniel Jones, Kayvon Thibodeaux, Saquon Barkley, Evan Neal and more. Heading into Week 1, here’s five things that have really stood out to us about this squad.

5. Daniel Jones is still batting consistency issues

When it comes to Jones, people are cautiously optimistic about how he’ll be able to play this campaign. The talent is there, there’s no doubt about that. However, Jones continues to battle problems with consistency and that has countless people out there quite worried. Plain and simple, Jones has to play better.

With Tyrod Taylor serving as his backup, there’s going to be a lot of pressure on Jones to get the job done. If he struggles early on this campaign, the screams are going to get louder and louder for new head coach Brian Daboll to make a move and put in Taylor over Jones. The hope is that this won’t end up happening.

Jones is a former No. 6 overall pick and the revamped offensive line should do wonders for him. The pieces are in place for Jones to have a solid season. If he does have a big year, it could lead to a nice new contract being presented to him this offseason. If he doesn’t play well, though, Giants fans will help him pack his bags out of town.
